The general trend! London's eight century-old street lamps will be replaced by leds

Eight century-old street lamps in central London will be replaced with LED lights in the next few weeks, marking the start of the 21st century, foreign media reported.

The historic lampposts are located along Tottenham Court Road in the shopping and commercial areas.Infrastructure is being upgraded in the area, so the lampposts will be repaired and upgraded with energy-efficient LED modules.

The restoration of street lighting posts was undertaken by civil and electrical engineering company McCann in Nottingham, including the removal of each post, the installation of new reinforcing rods, the repair of defects, the replacement of lampshades and lamps, and the repainting of lampposts to restore their former glory.

Steve Ellis, McCann's regional manager, said: "the government has invested heavily in the region's infrastructure to make it more attractive to residents, tourists and businesses.

"We have launched LED lighting installation and maintenance projects across the country, and we are pleased to be able to install the latest energy-saving LED lighting technology here to light up the area in the coming decades
